Terre d'Aenòr in Franciacorta where everything starts

A love story spread over 29 plots

Normally the relationship between people and the vines can be compared to a love story based on reciprocal trust, listening and the ability to grow together. Across our 29 plots, located in the hills and terraces of Franciacorta, the same thing happens. In each individual plot we use all the agronomic practices necessary to exalt the different characteristics and potential of each separate vineyard.

Furthermore, Terre d’Aenòr adopts a separate vinification process for each plot in order to obtain the best quality from the grapes. In addition we gather and conserve the analytical and sensorial data and objective evaluations that allow us to monitor the state of health of the vineyard. In this way we maintain an equal exchange between the workers and the vineyard. We gather information and learn from the vines which help us maintain the vines in a good condition.

The vines

In Terre d’Aenòr we cultivate 3 principle types of vines.

Pinot Noir

Full-bodied, complex, elegant

Chardonnay

Elegant, fragrant, sapid

Pinot Blanc

Delicate, silky, fruity

In addition, Terre d’Aenòr cultivates a small quantity of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot which can be found in small plots on some terraces. The first one has a strong personality whilst the second one is soft and fruity.

The DNA of our vineyards: soil and climate

Our vineyards are spread out over 7 municipalities of Franciacorta, on different types of terrain, each one having its own characteristics and potential. Together they represent the amazing variety and richness of the Franciacorta territory. For example, one can find deep top-soil full of clay and lime which helps produce a more acidic grape. There are also plots of a morainic origin (derived from glaciation processes), which give a mineral touch to the fruit. Finally there are sandy and gravelly plots which help produce a good mature aroma to the grape.

Mixed with the different types of terrain are the different climatic conditions found in Franciacorta. These include wind, temperature and humidity and influence the agronomic choices of each plot as well as impacting the organoleptic characteristics of the grapes. All these factors help make Terre d’Aenòr production unique and easily recognizable.
